Think about significant learning you
experienced as a result of being in this course either based in course content
or the process of taking the course, and that you would like to share in your
ePortfolio or Digication. The Signature Assignment for this course
has 2 major parts. Both parts should be submitted as one paper. You must
address the following in your paper:

1.) Signature Assignment Piece – Lessons Identified &
Analyzed (20 points total):

1a.)
First, describe the lifespan perspective. Include in your description the
importance of studying life-span development. This likely to be 1-2 paragraphs
(5pts).

1b.)
Next, as an example of the Life-Span Human Development perspective, identify
and describe one concept (i.e., theory, stage of development,
developmental disorder, or developmental process, etc. Really, the
possibilities are endless.) that
was particularly interesting or meaningful to you this semester that added to
your understanding of human development. For example, something you
learned or did in this course that is helpful for you now or will be helpful in
your future, or because it allowed for an important change in your
understanding of the world, human development or because it is part of
connections you are making across other courses you have taken, education, or life.
You must link your concept to a specific stage of development. You may
draw from lectures or group activities (if enrolled in one of my “face-to-face”
classes), SmartBook, or related activity assignments or discussions to help you
with this decision. This is likely to be 2-3 paragraphs (15pts).

2.) Reflective Writing Piece – Lesson Learned (15pts
total):

2a.)
Next, reflect on your topic. This should be a clear and thoughtful reflection
on your experience with the concept and thinking about the concept and
specifically why you found it significant. For example, how did studying
this topic aid in your understanding of your own development? (8pts)

2b.)
Finally, describe how acquiring knowledge and having an understanding of this
concept would benefit others (e.g. how would it benefit family, culture,
society, the world?) (7pts).

3. College Level Writing (10pts)

3a.) College
level writing is expected. Spelling, capitalization, punctuation,
sentence and paragraph structure are of a standard form to enhance
comprehensibility. Paper should be typed, size 12 font,
double-spaced (5pts).

3b.) Cite
your sources. You must cite/give attribution with in the text
of your work. This means, at the bare minimum, that you give the name of
the author and either the name and edition of the book. If you use online
sources you must provide the URL if material is from online. You may use any
formal writing style you are familiar with (i.e., APA, MLA, Chicago
Style). If you are unfamiliar with such a style, I suggest using APA
(American Psychological Association). Instructions for APA style are

Style Citations (5pts).
