Write My Essay For MeAn essential component of science is the ability to research a topic, write scientifically about a topic, and to present scientific information to an audience. Thus, you will select a topic on anything you would like in Tropical Biology. All topics must be approved by the instructor. Topic must be related to Tropical Ecology or Tropical Biology in some way. Examples of topics include:
– Ecological importance of mangrove forests in Florida coastal communities
– The impact of ecotourism on tropical rain forest conservation in developing countries
– Historical range of tropical environments and its impact on species diversity
– Contribution of fish grazing to calcareous sediment production in coral reef communities
**My approved chosen topic: The impact of citizen science restoration efforts on coral reef health in the Florida Keys can be beneficial by practicing active reef restoration and running transplant experiments of corals while propagating threatened coral species. **
This is a review topic-based research paper. As such you should be writing based on peer reviewed literature. Please use the format below in writing your reports.
General guidelines
1. Focus your topic, summarize your thesis in 1 sentence.
2. Know your audience.
3. Summarize key findings. You do not need to present every single detail of a study. Summarize the key findings or information.
4. Organize your main thoughts into a logical sequence.
5. Organize topics using subheadings.
6. Avoid direct quotes. Put information in your own words and cite appropriately.
7. Try to use third person passive voice when possible. If 1st person is necessary, use an active voice.
8. Paper should be typed, double-spaced, single sided, with 1” margins all around, using a 12-point font (Times New Roman, Arial, and Calibri are good fonts).
Abstract
This is a brief (150-250 words) summary of your paper. As such, it should be written LAST. It is not an introduction to your paper, it summarizes the purpose, key points, and major conclusions of the paper succinctly. Examine the abstracts of some of your primary sources for examples. In general, you do not need to refer to any references here, nor should you refer to any figures.
Introduction
The purpose of an introduction is to provide the rationale behind the work, and background information relevant to presenting the topic. The introduction enables the reader to understand and appreciate your objectives. In the introduction you will need to do the following things:
· Present relevant background or contextual material
· Define terms or concepts when necessary
· Explain the focus of the paper and your specific purpose
· Reveal your plan of organization
The last paragraph should include your thesis (or hypothesis), that is the question you are trying to answer.
Methods/Results
As this is a review paper of a topic, you likely will not have any methods or results. However, occasionally people may compile data from multiple sources, and present that data in a new way. If this is done, it would need to be described in the methods, and the results presented in a results section.
Discussion
This will be the main body of your paper. Here is where you will present relevant information, interpret the findings of your sources, and answer key questions on this topic. It is highly recommended that you utilize subheadings to help organize and direct the flow of the paper.
Some key points to consider:
Use your outline and prospectus as flexible guides
Build your essay around points you want to make (i.e., don’t let your sources organize your paper)
Integrate your sources into your discussion
Summarize, analyze, explain, and evaluate published work rather than merely reporting it
Move up and down the “ladder of abstraction” from generalization to varying levels of detail back to generalization
Conclusions
This is where you wrap up the paper in a logical, well thought out manner.
If the argument or point of your paper is complex, you may need to summarize the argument for your reader.
If prior to your conclusion you have not yet explained the significance of your findings or if you are proceeding inductively, use the end of your paper to add your points up, to explain their significance.
Move from a detailed to a general level of consideration that returns the topic to the context provided by the introduction.
Perhaps suggest what about this topic needs further research.
References
All information which is used in your paper from any source, needs a citation which corresponds to a listed reference. All references should be in alphabetical order.
Cite references in the body of your report by referring to author and the year published. For example, “Amoeba are cool little critters (Andrews 1998)” or “Andrews (1998) states that Amoeba are cool little critters.” When there are two authors refer to both in your citation. For example, “The survival curves of humans are not stagnant (Gross and Clark 1975).” When there are more than two authors use the first and add et al. (i.e. Gross et al. 1975). Remember to cite anyone that you either got an idea from or whose exact words you are using.
In your references section use the following format for 1 & 2) books, 3) journal articles, 4) or the Internet. Also, note formatting for articles with single and multiple authors.
**My 3 chosen sources are attached in files section**
**I have also attached my outline that I started of the paper, so if you would like to use some/all of what I have written already, you’re welcome to! I would prefer for you to use as much as you can with what I’ve written, but if you can think of a better way to word something or want to omit unnecessary information then that’s okay too!**
