Your final project is to pull together the information in the three project assignments in addition
to a discussion of your analysis of the data to write a research paper. The answers to the
questions that guided the assignments should be contained in the final paper with the exception that if the question did not pertain to your project then you can omit that information. You
should take into account any feedback from your GSI that may have inspired you to revise some
aspects of your project. Discuss any changes to your project in the introductory section which is
drawn from the information in Assignment 1, but as the term has progressed your writing of this
introductory section should have become increasingly academic and grounded in sociological
concerns and less idiosyncratic and personal. The second part of your project is the literature
review and this part should not exceed 5 pages. This section of the paper will need to look more
like a literature review that we find in research articles as opposed to responses to assignment
prompts. The third part is the methods section where you discuss your data collection methods
and decisions as in Assignment 3. The fourth and final part is the analysis and
conclusions. Tables can be inserted in the text or added as addenda at the end with a reference in the text to the table “(Table 1 here).”

Nice try but there is a lot of space for improvement. Work on the following issues for the final paper: (1) refine the research question to make it consistent all through the project; (2) rewrite the review section and make it closer to a synthetic review; (3) specify the survey options, not only the questions.
Essentially you are drawing upon the information from the first three assignments and adding an analysis/results/discussion section. It will not be enough to simply cut and paste the previous work however as all of the parts of the project are now complete and there may be a need to rewrite some elements of the paper to reflect that completion and to have an orderly discussion of he article with minimal repetition that takes into account what you have learned through the term. There is also going to be an evaluation of the project itself and how well you have executed the project that you have outlined in the introductory part of the paper, especially from a methodological perspective.
