The literature review (or ‘lit review”) is a central part of any research paper where the researcher/s discusses what “Others” have to say about a topic. For the purpose of this assignment, you will select a topic related to themes and concepts covered in this course, write an introduction explaining your topic and why it is relevant in the context of social psychology. Then, you will write a literature review incorporating at least 6 different articles published within the last 5 years on that particular topic. The length of a literature review varies but it is usually at least 4-5 pages in length. One caveat is that you are not writing a summary of each article. A literature review consists of an integration of the articles into different themes.

Parts of the Literature Review are as follows:
Introduction (approx. 1 page)
Discussion (approximately 3 -5 pages depending on the number of students/articles)
Conclusion containing possible research questions and/or hypotheses for further study of the topic (max. 1 page)
References page in APA or ASA (your choice but be consistent)
Group presentation 5 minutes class presentation/discussion with a small group of your peers
Final presentation (10 minutes)

1 student: 6 academic articles; 2 students 10 academic articles; 3 students 14 academic articles
Important: articles must be academic (published in the last 5 years), newspapers, magazines, and most internet sites are not academic. Some exceptions are websites like the census, or other government sites but for the most part you should focus on using articles from academic journals that are peer-reviewed. Articles must be recent and you must use your own words. Turnitin will be enabled.
