Description Self-Contained Multimedia activity: Creating a Power-Point

Presentation based on a given scenario.

You are a consultant who has been hired to improve the effectiveness

of corporate trainers. These trainers often make presentations to

employees on topics such as conflict management, teamwork,

problem solving, and performance appraisal. Your goal is to teach

these trainers how to make better presentations.

Your task:

Please select one of the above 4 areas and create eight visually

appealing slides on the relevant content, which will be spoken during

the presentation titled Effective Employee Training. The ppt slides

need to be on your selected area. You do not need to present your

work, just submit your ppt slides.

You also need to provide a detailed explanation – in 2500 words – of

your introduction, opening statement, transition methods between

different topics/slides and other relevant choices. Your report

should be on your presentation and communication techniques

with a reflection on your ppt slides.

Remember to go through the course slides and notes on effective

presentations in order to create your own effective mini-presentation.

This should be a purely academic approach giving supporting sources

of information and references. Evidence of research, knowledge of the

topic and, in particular, the level of analysis and justification are

important in determining the grade for the assignment.

Referencing and bibliography are formally assessed in this assignment.

There are going to be two submission links. One for the written report

and one for the 6 slides.

There is going to be one submission link for your report and one

for your presentations. Feedback and marks will be available on

your report submissions.

This activity has a weight of 60% towards the final grade.

Assessment criteria

Credit will be given for evidence of:

• Library/Internet based research. Try to use a mixture of resources – books, articles as well as the internet.

• Understanding of the issues raised by the questions.

• Concise and clear presentation. Acknowledge any quotes, ideas or arguments that are not your own using the Harvard system. Include a list of references.

• Originality and a critical and questioning approach. It is important to be objective and to support statements with evidence.

• A logical structure and well-argued conclusion.

Goal(s) The assignment is designed to provide students the opportunity to

critically analyze the issues and constraints in relation to the use of

business information in organizations, critically discuss how to deal

with real business communication issues and explain the significance

for companies of implementing effective communication strategies to

enhance their performance and productivity.

Learning outcomes

• Explain students the role of a of Communication as a corporate function,

• Familiarize students with key theories of and research regarding organizational communication and acculturation and will master tools such as a communication audit, plan and policies,

• Examine communication within an organization as a mirror of organizational culture, based on branding, ran through ethics, and aimed at sustainable integration.
