The Term Research Project is a choice of Either a narrated slide presentation Or a webcast (video recording of you) on a management communication topic of your choosing. You will conduct research and then develop and deliver a presentation. Note: this is NOT a restating or re-sharing of our course textbook; this is research based on new, different expert sources.
And note: Our course textbook does not count as one of your three research sources. You may present your findings in one of these two forms:
1) Create a Narrated audio presentation using Powerpoint for PC or Keynote for the Mac of your findings. You will then Convert your narrated presentation to VidGrid for upload. Instructions for converting to VidGrid are in a file in the top section of our course, marked, “How to Use VidGrid for Students,” and then select, “How to Upload a Narrated Presentation to a Discussion Forum.” You will post your VidGrid presentation to the Week7 Discussion Forum titled, “Final projects week7 and Evaluation of other students week8.”
2) Capture a webcast video of you (using VidGrid) presenting your findings. Basically, you would be speaking to the camera, inside VidGrid inside the discussion forum titled, “Final projects week7 and Evaluation of other students week8.” In this option you would not have to use slides but you are free to have any props or drawings or whiteboard with you, although those are not required. The key will be to see and hear you deliver your quality content in a compelling way.
Your presentation should be 8-10 minutes and, if you are narrating to slides, 4 or more slides. Your slides should include proper citation of source (research) material. For option 2, a webcast (live recording) of you, you should submit a one page list of your sources/citations. You can hold that up to the screen at the end or you can post it to the forum.
Is this an Individual or a Team assignment?
You may do the Term Project individually (the most common) or as a team of up to 4 persons. If you do it as a team, your Powerpoint (Keynote) presentation should be 5-6 minutes per team member and at least 3 slides per person, and you should be careful to review and integrate each others’ work so it flows logically
