Early in the semester you identified a behavioral change that would contribute to your health. Throughout the semester, you worked towards your health goal. For this assignment, you will turn in a 3-4 page paper describing the success (or lack of success) you have had in changing the behavior you identified earlier in the semester. You will NOT be evaluated in terms of your success in achieving your behavioral goal, but in terms of your understanding of why you were or were not successful.
Your paper should address:
(1) a brief description of the behavior that you sought to change and your approach(es) to changing the behavior, including how you tracked your progress and a determination of whether or not you were successful;
(2) why you think it is important to change this behavior (i.e., what research is relevant to suggest this change is important);
(3) how does theory and research in Health Psychology contribute to your understanding of your success (or lack of) in changing your behavior?; Note: you can have both successes and failures within the same health goal. For example, you may have had a goal of losing 15 pounds and only lost 5 pounds; you didn’t achieve your goal, but did find some success in losing some weight.
(4) how this (and any) behavior change is consistent with ideas presented by the models and theories of behavior change;
(5) what do you need to do to continue to have success or what do you need to change in order to have success in this goal (use the theories of behavior change)?
