Chose a current or recent-past coworker. One, it should be a coworker, and not a supervisor or sub-ordinate. Two, do not create a fictitious coworker consisting of characteristics from a set of real coworkers. Divide your paper into the following three major sections. (They certainly can have sub-sections.)

Background. Give the coworker’s background – details such as gender, age, educational & family background, work experience. Provide all meaningful details in such a way that the reader can clearly visualize a live person. If you think I can identify the person, disguise or omit identifying information.
Analysis. Using concepts from the text, explain why the coworker’s job-performance/or-commitment is low. Which chapters from the text? Well… mostly those dealing with individual characteristics, such as chapter 5. Feel free to borrow from the chapters on Job Satisfaction and Stress, although I am not covering them in class. Can you use concepts/theories from outside the text? Yes, so long as they are useful – i.e., the concepts are meaningful (instead of jargon words), and the theories are rational (instead of snake-oil-salesmen explanations).
Recommendations (should be based solely on the concepts used in the analysis section – i.e., do not introduce new concepts in this section)
Give specific recommendations to the company’s management on what it should do to help improve the coworker’s performance/commitment.
Advise the organization on what it should do to avoid such problems in the future. If you say, ‘do nothing’ – well…you are in trouble, unless you provide an extremely convincing rationale!
Pages: max of 8 (pages of text).
Format: same as for case analysis write-ups. (If you use outside material, provide a reference list. Reference and citation style: any style is fine, but use one style consistently throughout the paper.)
