Assignment Background and Description

In order to complete this assignment successfully, you and your group will need to analyze an article from the newatlas.com website and summarize it as a business case. You will then use the case use to identify all the stakeholders, do an analysis of the stakeholders, create an engagement plan for the stakeholders, and finally manage the engagement of the stakeholders by introducing a properly completed change request. Business Case: The business case should define the current state of the organization, its desired state (project requirements), as well as the steps required to achieve the desired state (project milestones). It should also provide as much information about any stakeholders as possible, in order to minimize the number of assumptions that need to be made.

Stakeholder Register: Create a stakeholder register and identify all the stakeholders. Use the form posted on the Moodle page (BoF 1.3 Stakeholder Register) to create your register. Be sure to identify any requirements or expectations for each stakeholder and justify each. Use the classification column to indicate which block on the power/interest grid the stakeholder should be in, and provide justification for placing them in the block.

Stakeholder Analysis: For each stakeholder or stakeholder group, complete a stakeholder analysis using the form (BoF 1.4 Stakeholder Analysis) that is posted on the Moodle page. For the interest and influence columns, assign a value between 1 and 10, and describe how you achieved the value. Use the attitude column to define the current (C) support level of the stakeholder and describe how you determined it.

Data Representation: Display your stakeholders in a power/influence grid using the spreadsheet (PowerInterestGrid.xlsx) posted on the Moodle page. Make sure that their placement is in alignment with the information in the register and analysis forms.

Stakeholder Engagement Plan: Use the information from the stakeholder register and analysis to complete your stakeholder engagement plan. Be sure to order the stakeholders with the ones requiring the most engagement/management on top, and the ones requiring the least engagement on the bottom. Use the form posted on the Moodle page for your plan. (BoF 2.35 Stakeholder Engagement Plan)

Change Request: Create a change request from one of the most influential stakeholders. The change should be significant enough to impact multiple stakeholders and the baselines. Be sure to provide justification for the change, and the impact of the change, so it can be properly assessed. Use the change request form on Moodle for this. (BoF 3.3 Change Request)

Change Log: Enter the change request in the change log. Use the change log form on the Moodle page. (BoF 3.4 Change Log)

Issue Log: Enter any identified issues in the change log. (BoF 3.1 Issue Log)

Assumption Log: Use the assumption log form posted on the Moodle page to create an assumption log. Log any assumptions you have made while you completed the register, the analysis, the engagement plan, and the change request. Make sure your assumptions are clearly stated, and that there is a clearly defined action that will turn the assumption into a fact. (BoF 1.2 Assumption Log)
