Write My Essay For MeThe writing assignment therefore asks you to do as follows:
Watch or read in their entirety, making notes along the way. Then write it up in an essay:
What are three or so of the most striking arguments, narratives, conceptualizations that you find in your chosen text?
Write a kind of summary, based around paragraphs or sections that review and retell these three (or so) themes. Task #1 is to tell the reader what this author/ activist had to say.
Try to retell it with the idea that it provides useful background and/ or forms with which one can understand the topic at hand.
After you’ve done a “good enough” job of that, it’s your turn. How does what the thinker/ speaker/ author you chose resonate with you? Does it provide background knowledge or stimulating ideas that provide “logical and moral conformity” with what you are concerned to understand, or perhaps wishes or ambitions you may hold? How does the reading/ text affect you and your understanding of the subject matter? What struck you most, and how might it influence your future intentions, or the direction of your studies, or your current or past beliefs?
#3 From #Black Lives Matter To Black Liberation
This is also a chapter from a book with the same title by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, professor of African American Studies. In it, she ends a book length study that began with a descriptive and philosophical look at racism in the “culture” of the modern epoch, focused on the United States. (I was equally tempted to upload that first chapter, but…. had to make a choice!!) The book was published during the Obama presidency and had a widely-felt impact. The chapter I decided upon involves the difficulties that activists and thinkers face in working out their priorities and understandings in a social and political world that tends to disaggregate the issues of race, class, gender, and sexuality, rather than see them as internally related and co-constituted with one another. (I’m reminded of a piece by the great Indian intellectual Himani Bannerji, who argues very persuasively that no one (or few people) really experiences one of these identities to the exclusion of the other; and that at any rate we ought to see their division into categories as somewhat less truthful, and so our efforts must be directed at finding the language with which to create a true picture (always philosophically difficult) that will not only be accurate but will help us assess the systemic changes that give us a chance at achieving social justice.
