Write My Essay For MeAssignment: In your Essay 3 Part 1 Research Assignment, you illustrated how your chosen psychological technique is used by performing a rhetorical analysis on your chosen advertisement or commercial. You also explained why it’s important to consider performing a rhetoric analysis on advertisements.
For Essay 3 Part 2, please conduct a short virtual survey or interview to gain multiple perspectives. You will create a survey question, collect the results, and analyze and synthesize the results. You might want to share the commercial with a few trusted friends or family members through social media and ask for their responses to your survey or interview questions. My hope is that you might find a surprising opinion or a unique reaction to the commercial/advertisement from multiple perspectives.
Then, once you receive your responses, you will write a small section that explains that you conducted a survey and explains the multiple perspectives that you received from the results. If you are having problems receiving opposing viewpoints, you could add your own responses to the survey-put yourself on the other side of the argument. Why might someone be offended or disagree with the commercial? Your added section can be in paragraph form and summarize your overall responses. You can also discuss the question that you posed in your survey. If you would like your classmates’ opinions, please post your survey to our optional Discussion
Example: For my final evaluation of visual rhetoric, I survey a few close friends of mine by asking them to evaluate the image above. I then asked them what they think of the image, what they think the message of the image is, and finally if they think the image can be offensive and why. By doing this I will be able to identify how the use of an image to get a point across to someone (visual rhetoric) can be interpreted in different ways. The reason for the survey is because some people may not fully understand the point that the image is trying to get across, or the image may be offensive to someone. This will give me the ability to understand just how effective the use of visual rhetoric is.
The first person I asked was a close friend of mine. The first thing I asked them was what they think the message is that the image is trying to get across. My friend interpreted the message as, countries can grow certain fruits, but it is more cost effective to just import the fruits from other countries. By importing the fruits from other countries, it is causing a lot of pollution which is destroying our planet. The second question I asked was do you think the image being shown can be offensive and why or why not. Their response was, it could be because it is someone’s job to import those fruits if importing fruits was banned then someone may be out of a job.
The second person I asked was another close friend of mine. I first asked them what they think the message is that the image is trying to get across. The response I got was similar to the first, clearly the transportation of fruits to other countries, which is long over long distances, causes pollution. The second question again was, do you think this image can be offensive to anyone, why or why not. The response I got was, no, I do not believe this image can be offensive because it is only trying to put across an important message to help save our earth.
After hearing the different responses from people it helped me understand how visual rhetoric can be interpreted in so many different ways. It seemed like everyone I asked had a similar response as for what the message was that the image was trying to get across. When it came to the second question, do you think the image above can be offensive and why or why not, many people said no but one response really made me understand how visual rhetoric can be interpreted in such different ways. If you put yourself in the shoes of someone whose job it is to transport these fruits, you begin to understand how this image can be offensive to that person. Following the composing of this essay it really helped me understand what visual rhetoric really is, how it is used, and it can be interpreted, misinterpreted, or even offensive to some people.
